On March 22, 2023, the 6th Floor Auditorium at HUFLIT’s Su Van Hanh Campus was filled with excitement as nearly 400 students gathered for the seminar titled “Networking with Chinese Enterprises.” The event was particularly popular among students majoring in Chinese Language Studies, offering a unique and valuable platform to explore the Chinese labor market, corporate culture, and potential career opportunities.

The seminar welcomed representatives from the Chinese Business Association, including seasoned professionals with extensive experience in recruitment and human resource management at leading Chinese enterprises. Their presence brought real-world insights to the discussion, enriching the students’ understanding of the skills and competencies required to succeed in Chinese-speaking professional environments.

Throughout the session, the speakers provided comprehensive overviews of the Chinese labor market, detailing job opportunities for Chinese-speaking professionals, workplace environments in Chinese companies, and key recruitment criteria. These insights helped students better understand the expectations of employers and the qualities that set successful candidates apart in a competitive market.

One of the seminar’s highlights was the discussion of essential skills for thriving in Chinese corporate environments. The speakers emphasized the importance of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, adaptability, and cross-cultural understanding. They also highlighted the need for students to cultivate a deep familiarity with Chinese corporate culture, including work ethics, organizational hierarchies, and professional etiquette.

To further support students in their career journeys, the representatives shared practical advice on effective learning strategies, tips for choosing suitable internship placements, and methods for building professional networks. They also discussed how to prepare for interviews and meet the expectations of Chinese employers, equipping students with actionable knowledge to enhance their employability.

Beyond career advice, the seminar created a meaningful connection between HUFLIT and the business community, opening doors for future collaborations. It highlighted the university’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that students graduate not only with academic knowledge but also with the practical skills and confidence needed to excel in their careers.

For many attendees, the seminar was a transformative experience, offering not only inspiration but also a clearer vision of their future careers. It reaffirmed HUFLIT’s dedication to fostering student success through events that connect them with industry leaders and provide critical career development opportunities.

The “Networking with Chinese Enterprises” seminar was a significant milestone in HUFLIT’s efforts to enhance its students’ career readiness.
