HUFLIT students equipped with “Valuation and Asset Management” skills
In order to provide opportunities for its members and students to accumulate more experience, specialized knowledge, and professional skills in the field of valuation and asset management, the Faculty of Economics and Finance Union and Association organized a specialized workshop on “Valuation and Asset Management” on June 5th, 2023, with the participation of nearly 500 HUFLIT members and students.
The workshop was accompanied by the presence of Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Head of the Research and Scientific Valuation Council, Vietnam Valuation Association. During the workshop, he shared methods and models for determining the value of assets, provided additional knowledge and skills in investment at the grassroots level, and supplemented information on current labor market demands. His insights helped members and students recognize risks, master the legal framework system, uphold professional ethics, and attain high-level professional proficiency, thus enabling them to be more confident and capable of establishing mechanisms to prevent professional risks after graduation.
During the exchange and question sessions, the speaker thoroughly answered all queries from the participating members and students. Furthermore, he provided additional information about international valuation standards. He emphasized, “International valuation standards are standards that serve the implementation of valuation by using commonly recognized concepts and principles to promote transparency and consistency in valuation practices worldwide”.
He also stressed, “International valuation standards include mandatory requirements that must be followed to ensure that valuation is carried out in accordance with these standards. While some aspects of the standards do not directly or explicitly require specific actions, the fundamental concepts and principles must be considered when conducting valuation. The goal of international valuation standards is to increase the confidence of appraisers in their valuation work and the trust of users of valuation services by establishing transparent and consistent valuation practices”.
Through the workshop, the members and students of the university equipped themselves with valuable knowledge in valuation, enhancing their wealth of knowledge and understanding and boosting their confidence in their future career paths. This enabled them to build long-term plans that align with their set goals.
